You can find major yacht charter opportunities along the southern coast of Ireland, especially between Cork and Dingle. Cork Harbor and Dingle Peninsula offer a choice of 140 places for yachts to stop overnight. Cork is the birthplace of the oldest yacht club in the world, holding a friendly-to-contestants regatta biyearly. For yachters who enjoy fishing, Cork hosts a yearly Deep Sea Angling festival. Secret coves and golden sand line the Cork coastline. Kinsale, southwest of Cork, hails as a fishing village rich in history and considered to be one of the prettiest harbors in Europe. Yacht club visitors are extended temporary membership as a courtesy. Kinsale is a frequent stop on crewed charters, and a premier yacht charter company is headquartered here. Dingle abounds with seafood restaurants and music pubs. Dingle’s yacht marina welcomes visitors. Sports for yachters include diving, traditional Currach rowing, and a round or two of golf. On the northeast coast, the major city of Dublin features several yacht charters and clubs. You can charter around Dublin Bay, peering at Dalkey Island’s Martello Tower and gun battery. Just south of Dublin Bay is Killiney Bay, referred to locally as “The Bay of Naples,” with a pebble beach and spectacular homes overlooking the bay.
