Amalfi Coast
, one of Europe’s premier yachting destinations, lies between Positano and Salerno, Italy, spread along a Gulf busy with commercial ships and pleasure boats. This is an enchanting place of seaside villages scattered along the coast, with pastel colored cottages clustered around tiny harbors, glorious beaches and little islands. Located on the Sorrentine peninsula of Italy, the Amalfi Coast is a thriving holiday resort area. A cliff-hugging road that snakes above rocky cliffs plunging into the turquoise blue sea connects the romantic towns of this amazing stretch of coastline. White villages, overflowing with colorful flowers nestle in coves or climb up terraced hills and small boats and sailboats dot the icy blue water below. Add to this a mixture of history, world class hotels and unforgettable cuisine, and you will see why the Amalfi Coast is one of Southern Italy’s most popular getaways. Just mention the word “coastline,” and this celebrated stretch of the Mediterranean comes to mind. Each town and village has its’ own unique flavor, with architectural and artistic works of great significance, and festivals and celebrations of all kinds held throughout the year. Dozens of yacht charters, excursions and mini-cruises are available from many of the ports along the Amalfi Coast; in addition, many hotels in the region will help arrange a yachting excursion for their customers.
