Newport Beach
is a historic yachting community in Orange County, California. Known for its picturesque harbor, beautiful beaches and balmy Mediterranean-like climate, it is one of southern California’s most active recreational yachting centers. This sophisticated beach town with its’ majestic coastline, world-class restaurants and shopping is conveniently located just a half-hour from Los Angeles. Balboa Island in Newport Harbor is a charming island community that is also a popular tourist spot, with a tranquil, secluded bay and gorgeous beaches. It’s well worth the time to wander the island and explore the quaint gift shops and art galleries, have a bite to eat at one of the sidewalk cafes and enjoy the mix of Cape Cod and modern architecture on the island. A stroll down North Bay’s front walkway on Balboa Island takes you past stately yachts moored at the docks. Also not to be missed while visiting Newport Beach is Corona del Mar or the “Crown of the Sea.” Located at the east entrance of Newport Beach and situated on bluffs overlooking the shore, this eclectic village has a spectacular view of the ocean, sandy beaches, Newport Harbor and Balboa Peninsula. Corona del Mar also has numerous boutiques, coffee bars and quaint cafes, a multitude of galleries and shops, including Fashion Island – a well-known shopper’s paradise. Dozens of yacht charters can be found in Newport Beach, including the largest privately owned fleet in southern California.
