Nice
is France’s fifth largest city, situated in the heart of one of the most popular tourist regions in the world – the Cote d’Azur or “Blue Coast” on the French Riviera. Once a seaside retreat for the English aristocracy, Nice today is a colorful and charming town filled with lively markets, museums, gardens, fountains, cafes and restaurants. It sits on the picturesque Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels,) and has a wide variety of recreational opportunities available, such as swimming, fishing, parasailing, golf, water skiing and hiking. For boating enthusiasts, Nice is located in the middle of what is known as the “Yachting Mecca of the Mediterranean,” with dozens of marinas and yacht charters located all up and down the coast. Stunning beaches, quaint fishing villages, first class resorts and thousands of restaurants are all just minutes from the Nice harbor. Mini cruises along the French Riviera are also available in Nice, with stops in St. Tropez and Monaco. The city of Nice is a genteel city with an independent spirit - home to many festivals throughout the year, such as the three week long Battle of Flowers in February and the Jazz Festival at Cimiez in July. As part of the stunning French Riviera, Nice is affectionately called the “Grand Dame of the Cote d’Azur.”
