Panama City
makes a great yachting destination for anyone wanting to explore the northwest panhandle region of Florida. Situated on glistening St. Andrews Bay with over sixteen miles of beautiful Gulf of Mexico coastline, Panama City is known as a popular tourist town offering a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and pleasant climate. This coastal resort area has miles of soft, white sand beaches, navigable waterways, endless entertainment and attractions and plentiful marine life. Three state parks in the region are consistently ranked among the country’s “top 20 beaches.” The city maintains two full-service marinas and several charters are available for deep-sea fishing and sightseeing trips. The Panama City Marina is located on the Intercoastal Waterway just one block from downtown, and is newly renovated and designed for all classes of vessels. This marina is open seven days a week and has a full-service dock. St. Andrews Marina is Panama City’s historic seaport that attracts hundreds of visitors each month who come to watch the men and women who earn their living from the sea. Many shrimp boats that use St. Andrews as their homeport sell fresh shrimp directly to the public. Both marinas are near restaurants and shopping facilities. The waters along the northern Gulf are known for their excellent fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing and yachting, and Panama City also offers beachside amusement parks, a marine park with a tropical garden, alligator and otter exhibits.
